- 鈥淚 appreciate so much this time to write and share with you my experience, my voice, I a new Spanish teacher in 黑料网, in other country, in other city far away from my own country, it’s not easy but it isn鈥檛 imposible, I have grateful with each one who help me, assist my ideas, answer my questions and teach me new things. I’m 40 in my country, this age is for being realized or complete, you know…but I wanted something different. I believed that maybe I could travel, meet people, share my culture and learn about other cultures too….then I’m here. As a professional I have been learning more and when I come back to my country teaching all this will be amazing. Thanks 黑料网, thanks folks because you have kindness when new people need you.鈥 – Profesora Diana Ravelo, EA
- “隆Hola! My name is Kazi Ayeni-Watley, but the students may know me as A-Dub.聽 I am originally from Georgia, but have lived in the Bay Area for the past 12 years. What attracted me to Impact Academy is their unrepentant focus on pro-Blackness in their mission statement. At my past sites, I have been alone in my Blackness on campus (not to mention in my department as a Black American Spanish teacher) and did not feel empowered to stand in my personhood. Since being at Impact, I have been able to embrace every aspect of my being and show the students that just because they aren’t born into a language doesn’t mean they can’t learn it. My goal is to strive forward and continue to impart my identity into my students, curriculum, and the campus at large and continue to make great connections with my new school home.” – Kazi Ayeni-Watley, Impact HS
- “The start of this school year has been incredibly rewarding. I’m most excited about fostering a collaborative and innovative learning environment where every student feels empowered to reach their full potential.” – Anonymous, Impact HS
